Join The Advocacy Challenge!

This Challenge is open to all Clubs in every country! This February and March, Girl Up challenges YOU and your Girl Up Club to think about what a safe space looks like in your community and how to start creating one. In the toolkit you will learn how to create an advocacy plan for your safe space, along with resources, such as a Power Point and worksheet, to help you get started. You can also easily implement this toolkit into your club meetings by following the two club activities outlined in the toolkit. Don’t forget all advocacy resources can be found on the “Advocate” page under “Advocacy Resources”.

According to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), a safe space is a formal or informal place where women and girls feel physically and emotionally safe. A safe space for women and girls looks different in every community, so be sure to include as many club members as possible in your brainstorming to figure out what a safe space looks like in your specific community.

Lastly, if you want to earn bonus points flip to the last page of the toolkit and find out how you and your club members can raise awareness about safe spaces and get extra club points!
